The East Cambs Early Help Team are currently looking to recruit a full time (37 hours per week) Young Peoples Worker. This job is fixed term for 6 months.

Young Peoples Worker’s (YPWs) carry a caseload of vulnerable young people with needs up to and including Social Care thresholds of both Child in Need and Child Protection. YPWs are often the Lead Professional for a young person, and are responsible for coordinating a multi-agency support plan, usually involving parents/carers and wider family members. YPWs see young people in schools, their homes and in the community.

In addition to the 1:1 work with young people, our YPWs deliver group work to targeted young people, following Youth Work professional principles and practices, and are also key to the delivery of our statutory responsibilities around young people who are NEET (Not in Education, Employment or Training).

The ideal candidate will already have relevant experience of working with vulnerable young people, and may have an area of specific expertise or qualification in a relevant field such as mental health, youth offending or substance misuse.

Please see the job description and person specification for further details including the essential qualifications, knowledge, skills and experience required. Please evidence on your supporting statement how you meet the essential criteria of the person specification.

Please note, the advertised salary will be offered to the successful candidate based on their skills & experience.

For informal enquiries, please contact Lynne Shimell on 01353 612662 or Jill Buckingham on 01223 507166.

Interviews will be held on Thursday 11th April at Larkfields Community Centre, Ely.
