Cambridgeshire Early Help District Teams are looking to recruit a number of Young Peoples Workers to our multi-disciplinary teams. These are permanent posts, we work across 7 districts (East Cambs, South Cambs, City, Wisbech, Huntingdon/St Ives, Ramsey/Sawtry/Yaxley & St Neots, March, Chatteris & Whittlesey).

The following posts are available; 3 x full time in Huntingdon/St Ives district, 1 x full time in Ramsey/Sawtry/Yaxley & St Neots, 1 x full time in Wisbech, 1 x part time (18.5 hrs) in Wisbech, 2 x full time in Cambridge City, 1 x full time in East Cambs, 1 x full time in South Cambs, 1 x part time (29 hrs) in South Cambs, 1 x part time (18.5 hrs) in March, Chatteris, Whittlesey.

Young Peoples Worker’s (YPWs) carry a caseload of vulnerable young people with needs up to and including Social Care thresholds of both Child in Need and Child Protection. YPWs are often the Lead Professional for a young person, and are responsible for coordinating a multi-agency support plan, usually involving parents/carers and wider family members. YPWs see young people in schools, their homes and in the community.

In addition to the 1:1 work with young people, our YPWs deliver group work to targeted young people, following Youth Work professional principles and practices, and are also key to the delivery of our statutory responsibilities around young people who are NEET (Not in Education, Employment or Training).

The ideal candidate will already have relevant experience of working with vulnerable young people, and may have an area of specific expertise or qualification in a relevant field such as mental health, youth offending or substance misuse.

Starting salary for all posts will £24,313 pa (pro rata for part time posts). Successful candidates will be appointed on local government terms and conditions, full time hours are 37 per week, annual leave entitlement starts from 23 days per year (pro rata for part time).
