We are looking for four enthusiastic Young People’s Workers to be part of our busy multidisciplinary South Cambs District team working with children aged 0-19 and their families. You will provide intensive 1:1 support for vulnerable young people, assessing their needs, coordinating multi-agency support and delivering interventions to support them to overcome their difficulties. You will develop and sustain excellent relationships with schools and other services. You will also provide targeted support to groups of young people, and will be required to work some evenings.
The ideal candidates will be experienced at working with individual and groups of young people and able to quickly build relationships. You will have excellent organisation and time management skills, and will be fully proficient at using IT systems. A sound knowledge and understanding of safeguarding is essential.
We currently have 4 posts available:
1 x 30 hours 6 month fixed term
1 x 37 hours fixed term to end of April 2020
1 x 37 hours maternity cover fixed term
1 x 37 hours 6 month fixed term
A successful candidate will:
• Be part of the Youth Support Service within the South Cambs District Team, focusing on delivering services for young people aged 10 to 19
• Use a holistic and family centred approach
• Carry out assessments of young people’s needs and provide intensive one to one support to meet identified needs
• Plan and deliver targeted group work in partnership with schools and the wider community
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records on relevant case management systems
• Create opportunities and promote young people’s participation in the development, review and implementation of services they receive

A Joint Negotiating Committee (JNC) qualification in youth and community development is desirable but not essential.
Salary on appointment will be between £22,116 to £25,225, depending on experience and JNC qualification.
The successful candidate will be required to undergo an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
