We are looking for two permanent full time (37 hours per week) enthusiastic Young People’s Workers to be part of our busy multidisciplinary Cambridge City District team working with children aged 0-19 and their families. You will provide intensive 1:1 support for vulnerable young people, assessing their needs, coordinating multi-agency support and delivering interventions to support them to overcome their difficulties. You will develop and sustain excellent relationships with schools and other services. You will also provide targeted support to groups of young people, and will be required to work some evenings.
The ideal candidates will be experienced at working with individual and groups of young people and able to quickly build relationships. You will have excellent organisation and time management skills, and will be fully proficient at using IT systems. A sound knowledge and understanding of safeguarding is essential.
A successful candidate will:
• Be part of the Youth Support Service within the Cambridge City District Team, focusing on delivering services for young people aged 10 to 19
• Use a holistic and family centred approach
• Carry out assessments of young people’s needs and provide intensive one to one support to meet identified needs
• Plan and deliver targeted group work in partnership with schools and the wider community
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records on relevant case management systems
• Create opportunities and promote young people’s participation in the development, review and implementation of services they receive

A Joint Negotiating Committee (JNC) qualification in youth and community development is desirable but not essential.
Salary on appointment will be between £24982.00 to £27041.00, depending on experience and JNC qualification.
The successful candidate will be required to undergo an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.

The first interviews will be face to face and take place on: 15th February 2021 at The Octagon, Shire Hall, Cambridge.
