Cambridgeshire Virtual School is a team of teachers and dedicated education professionals who work to support the education and improve educational outcomes for Cambridgeshire’s children in care and children previously in care. We are seeking a forward thinking and passionate Senior Officer to lead and manage the work of the 'Achievement Through Inclusion' Team in order to ensure the highest educational outcomes for our Children in Care.

The 'Achievement Through Inclusion' is a newly created team within the Virtual school model with the specific remit of supporting inclusion. The team includes two teachers, one officer, one post-16 advisor and an educational psychologist and will be line managed by the senior officer. The work will have a reactive, proactive and preventative focus. It will include:

Supporting the team around the child:
- Management of complex cases to support inclusion (eg. reduced timetables, SEMH needs)
- Preventative work for children and young people (eg. those at risk of exclusion)
With schools and other key partners:
- Training & networking to raise awareness, promote a trauma-informed approach and suggest alternatives
- Empowering schools and other key partners
- Promoting collaborative working with other LA teams and those beyond the LA

The successful applicant will play a key role in shaping the development of the team and will sit within the virtual School leadership team to advance of the service as a whole.

Initially this role is advertised as fixed term, with a view to being made permanent according to the needs of the service.
