An opportunity has arisen within Cambridgeshire County Councils Fostering service and we are seeking to recruit a Team Manager to join the Fostering Recruitment and Assessment Team.

This is a really exciting time to join Cambridgeshire’s Fostering Service, we are undertaking a significant recruitment drive with the aim of significantly increasing our in-house fostering provision. You will be well supported by your colleagues and managers and will be part of the exciting changes currently happening in children’s social care.

We are looking for a candidate with strong leadership skills and a passion for recruiting and supporting Foster Carers whilst holding systemic theory and practice central to your exemplary Social work.

The applicant will be able to demonstrate that they can think creatively in delivering targeted recruitment campaigns, will have a significant level of knowledge and experience in undertaking Fostering Assessments and will have proven experience in managing a team of social work staff. This role will include work allocation, performance monitoring, dealing with staffing issues and the training and development of the Team.

You will have relevant experience working in Children’s Social Care and be familiar with child protection systems and processes, court work and working with children who are looked after. You should also have knowledge of statutory requirements and local procedures.

As the manager of the Fostering Recruitment and Assessment Team you will play an important role in delivering a needs-led professional service ensuring that vulnerable children and young people benefit from the best possible fostering placements in relation to safeguarding and protection. Due to the nature of this role, and the commitment of the Local Authority towards protecting and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults we will undertake additional recruitment checks which will include a check to see if you have had any criminal convictions, a check of police information and we will check the relevant barred list(s) should you be successful in your application.
