Our Service

Our Duty and Assessment service is the single point of contact for all safeguarding concerns relating to children and young people in Northamptonshire.

Professionals from a range of services that have contact with children, young people, their families and carers, collaborate to ensure immediate and prompt responses. Their combined knowledge and expertise keep children and young people in Northamptonshire safe from harm.
With a rotating duty element, we work at pace and to tight deadlines, completing robust short-term quality assessments of need, ensuring the right service provision is in place and that the child's voice is evident throughout.

We value our staff and are working to stabilise our permanent workforce and to improve practice. To help us achieve this we have an additional experienced team with us for 26 weeks to support with reducing workloads and implementing positive change.

We have a range of opportunities for experienced social workers who will positively contribute to the development of this evolving service.

The Role

We are seeking qualified social workers with current HCPC registration and previous management experience in either a similar team manager role or other position which provided management experience.

Our teams are based in Northampton at the Criminal Justice Centre and consist of a team of 5-6 social workers, a consultant practitioner a family support worker and a business support administrator.

You role will be to lead and manage the team to provide the highest quality front line services including providing quality supervision and coaching when required. You will support the service manager in continually driving performance.

The Person

It will be important to you to make a personal contribution towards improving our service.

You will be passionate about supporting and advocating for young people to ensure they reach their goals and have the best possible futures.
Your experience could have been gained in MASH, Duty & Assessment or First Response in Children Services and to be successful in this role you will need to have Management experience.
