Do you have extensive experience in working with vulnerable children and families with complex needs? Do you have experience in supervising practitioners and the practice of others? If the answer is yes, we would welcome your application.

Children First Northamptonshire is on an energetic and exciting improvement journey with new management and innovative approaches; we can confirm that we will become a standalone Trust which will deliver services for two new unitary authorities across the county.

We are now seeking experienced and dynamic Senior Practitioners with a passion for changing lives to join our Targeted Support Service to help us make our vision a reality.

Our 0 -19 Targeted Support Service successfully offers intensive support to children and families with identified complex support needs, where children are at risk of poor outcomes due to problems in the level of care and parenting, they receive and where they experience difficulties at home or at school. This can happen for a variety of reasons including inappropriate parenting or behaviour management; domestic abuse; inadequate housing or risk of homelessness; parental conflict; impaired physical or emotional wellbeing of parent or child; poor attachment; neglect and substance misuse, all of which leave children and young people at risk of poor educational attainment, reduced physical and mental health outcomes and at a considerable disadvantage as they enter adulthood where there is a risk they will repeat a cycle that may well impact adversely on their own children.

This is an exciting time to join us. Targeted Support is evolving and is enabling everyone to think differently about how we can best serve families in Northamptonshire. We are seeking highly skilled, experience and motivated people to strengthen our team, to supervise practitioners and the practice of others, and to support vulnerable children, young people and their families to reach their full potential, to change and to reduce the likelihood they will need statutory services.

You will need:
• Social Work, Education, Relevant Health Discipline or Management Qualification or equivalent through experience
• Substantial and direct experience of preventative work with children and families with escalating needs, including proven ability to assess and work with risks and to safeguard, and to ensure effective intervention.
• Proven ability to supervise staff.
• Enhanced DBS Clearance
• The right to work in the UK

In return, we can offer you:
• An extensive induction programme
• 2 day and 5-day Signs of Safety/Well Being training within your first year of employment
• An environment that fully supports your career and continuous professional development.
