The Place and Economy Directorate is at the forefront of making sure Cambridgeshire is open for business. This role is based in the Waste Management team within Environment & Commercial Services and provides an excellent opportunity for a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual.
We are seeking someone with waste project management experience, excellent communication and IT skills to manage and deliver projects associated with the Council’s waste disposal service.
You will be responsible for the management of projects to identify and deliver savings to the waste budget; update and deliver an effective strategy for the network of Household Recycling Centres and deliver capital developments to cater for Cambridgeshire’s growth agenda.
It is advantageous if candidates can demonstrate:
• Relevant sector experience to include an understanding of waste legislation and how local authority waste treatment, disposal and recycling services are delivered;
• Previous project management experience and show the ability to manage projects technically, commercially and financially;
• The ability to manage multiple stakeholders and projects simultaneously.
This is a permanent post initially based in Shire Hall in Cambridge that will require the successful candidate to travel around Cambridgeshire and occasionally outside the County boundary.
