Social Worker Post Adoption and SGO Support Team
Part Time Vacancy for 18 hours
Salary £33,568 pro rata Grade SW01
We are seeking an experienced, self-motivated and creative Social Worker to join our team within the Post Adoption and Special Guardianship Order (SGO) Support team.
In this exciting role you will support adoptive families and families subject to SGO who are requesting support and who may be in crisis. You will be part of a busy, supportive county-wide team with a learning culture who are committed and determined to provide effective Assessments of Need and support to families that have been referred to us and to supporting wider service practice in aspects related to adoption and Support for Special Guardianship families. The role has scope for therapeutic approaches to be shared and applied.
You will need to be confident to:

• Undertake succinct and thorough Assessments of Needs in a timely way, using Signs of Safety frameworks and other standardised measures and approaches.
• Ensure that support plans are made and implemented for adoptive families post order, and for children subject to Special Guardianship Order and their Special Guardians, post order.
• Support delivery of small group training on topics of therapeutic parenting and matters related to adoption and SGO, both for families and staff.
• Have knowledge and experience of working with children and families, in particular knowledge of adoption and attachment theory.
• Work closely with other professionals in a Team Around the Child approach and to coordinate the work done by colleagues in education, health, safeguarding teams and other agencies.
• Engage and work directly with children and young people in age-appropriate ways to inform the assessment and planning process, to hear their views and to offer support to them in a way which responds to their worries, needs and developmental stage.

You will need to invest in the life of the team and develop working relationships with staff and families alike which are based on collaborative and supportive methods of working, respecting others’ strengths, celebrating differences and seeking solutions. Enhanced DBS and driving license required.
