An exciting opportunity has arisen for a full-time Social Worker post in the Young Adult’s Team, on a full time 37 hours a week.

The Young Adults Team is a countywide team currently based at Amundsen House, St Ives but moving to Scott House Huntingdon in 2021. The Young Adults Team support Adults 18-25yrs with a diagnosed learning disability and/or autism who have an EHC Plan. We are looking for a dynamic, committed and passionate individual who is dedicated to improving the lives of young people, working alongside other professional colleagues to promote the principles of personalisation, encouraging independence, choice and opportunities for young people.

There is some part of the role which involves working alongside Children’s services with young people under 18 years to prepare them and their families for adulthood. Candidates will have the ability to support service users through change, encouraging progression, and acknowledging individual, family and community strengths through a transforming lives approach.

Knowledge and experience of working with people with a learning disability is desirable but not essential. Working knowledge and experience of the Care Act, Mental Capacity Act and CCC Adult Social Care policies and procedures will also be an advantage.
