This is an exciting and creative time for social work in our Children’s team workforce. Leading in Child in Need, Child Protection and Court Work and focusing on longer term work you will have the support of the Team Manager and Child Practitioners. The needs of the children are at the centre of everything we do, so every choice we make is based on achieving the best possible outcome in each individual case. We want to instigate change within families, with a less intrusive approach, team focus on intervention and systemic practice.

We are looking for enthusiastic and determined social workers from diverse backgrounds to enhance our existing workforce.

“Honestly, it’s the best job in the world”.

That’s what we heard over and over from members of our social work team.

Our social workers throw their heart and soul into transforming the lives of young people and their families. They genuinely love the challenge that every day brings.

And we love them for it.

But we aren’t what you might think a typical local government organisation looks like. We understand the work you do on a daily basis and we provide the support you need to make a difference to children throughout Cambridgeshire.

Following the successful implementation of Family Safeguarding in Peterborough City Council, Cambridgeshire County Council has secured a £4.15million investment from the Department for Education (DfE) for the implementation of Family Safeguarding which will be introduced in February 2020. Please access the attached document to read more about this exciting development.

You could benefit from a relocation package of up to £8,000, generous annual leave entitlement and pension scheme, flexible working, and excellent training and career progression.

But most importantly you will be part of a team that will have your back.

You must be a qualified social worker with current SWE registration and want to be part of a flagship for children’s service innovation. This is a great opportunity for you to work within a diverse and supportive team who will empower you to make important decisions and find creative solutions to challenging situations.

If you like the sound of moving to an authority where social workers are truly valued, get in touch with us today by calling Caroline on 01354 750325 or emailing

Applications are reviewed on a daily basis, please do not delay the submission of your application as this is a rolling advert and will be closed once a successful candidate has been found.
