We have an outstanding opportunity to join and support our highly motivated Information Management & Technology Directorate which prides itself on the ability to innovate, modernise and support services that provide patient care around Northamptonshire. As part of the overall IM&T strategy, we have recently completed a significant IT infrastructure refresh programme which presents a great opportunity for the successful candidate to develop in a fast paced learning environment. Key to this is that we ensure robust links are maintained with other aspects of our IM&T service at all times to enable further development.

We are looking for an experienced, highly motivated and innovative individual who wants to join our Desktop Support Team. As part of a team you will be responsible for the day-to-day support to clients and users of computers, peripherals and the network including desktops, laptops, and hand held devices on wired and wireless networks, ensuring both physical and data security is maintained. Experience of working in a MS Windows environment including Microsoft operating systems, Microsoft Office and Microsoft Outlook is essential. In addition experience of Active Directory and Netware e-Directory and the use of remote support tools would be desirable.

The Senior Desktop IT Technician will be a skilled and experienced member of the Information Technology function with the ability to perform tasks unsupervised but with appropriate technical support. You will be expected to have an enthusiasm for maintaining high quality services. You will have excellent IT skills and a commitment to provide excellent customer service. You will be a team player with a flexible attitude to your day to day work. The successful candidate will be expected to join the IT on call shift.
