Do you believe in community driven change? Are you a great communicator, facilitator and collaborator? If so, then one of these roles could be for you. They are dynamic roles, we need people with tenacity, drive, flexibility and resilience. These are fantastic roles, and challenging ones too!

Community Connectors will be part of changing the way the public, private and voluntary sector work together with communities - supporting them to build on their strengths and resilience to create places where people live happily and healthily for longer.

Community Connectors will start conversations, bring people together, empower people to initiate activities to bring about changes that people want to see and help grow community leaders of the future. This is an exciting opportunity to work with community groups and other key stakeholders, to promote integration and reduce inequalities.

The Community Connectors are responsible for identifying members of the community with drive, enthusiasm and local knowledge. You will need good communication skills, experience of working with community groups, knowledge of the area. You will also need good IT skills with the ability to collect data, complete forms and write reports. It is envisaged that Community Connectors will spend significant time in communities, however, if the pandemic continues to make this difficult, you will need to be creative and flexible, including adapting to work on-line from home.

These are fixed term roles up to 31 March 2022 with a possibility of extension if funding is available. Occasionally you may be required to work outside of normal office hours. We welcome applications from candidates seeking part-time roles, also secondments.

Up to 10 Community Connector roles are being created for the districts within Cambridgeshire, with an office base within that district: Fenland, Huntingdonshire, Cambridge City, East Cambs and South Cambs. Please specify in your application which districts you would like to be considered for, and your order of preference. You must be able to travel around the area you are working in to engage with communities.
